This balloon décor FAQ answers the questions I am asked most. Most come down to four things: what it costs, how far ahead to book, whether it is sustainable, and what happens on the day. Columns start from £100, arches from £275, corporate installations from around £400, I never release balloons, and I stay until I am happy with the room.
Cost and booking
Columns start from £100 and arches from £275. Corporate installations, such as a branded entrance or photo wall, start from around £400. A full room transformation runs from £750 to £1,500 or more. Table centrepieces are £45–£90 each. The honest answer depends on your space, so tell me the venue and budget. From £275, depending on size and design. Organic arches cost more because they use roughly three times as many balloons to build, and larger or more elaborate designs cost more again. Tell me the size, colours and venue, and I will give you an exact price. As soon as the date and venue are confirmed, especially for Christmas parties, graduations, awards nights and launches. Busy weeks fill up. That said, I once turned a dealership request around within a day and a half, so if you are short of time, ask anyway.
The date, the venue, your colours, the effect you want the room to have, and a rough budget. A range is plenty. You do not need a mood board or floor plan. Ten minutes on the phone usually covers it, and I will tell you honestly what your budget can do. Yes. Honesty comes first, even when it costs me a job. If your budget will not stretch to what you are picturing, I will say so, and suggest something smaller that still looks good. I would rather lose a booking than let you down on the night.
What you get
Yes, and they are the bulk of my work. I dress car dealership showrooms, universities, hotels, awards nights, product launches and staff days, in your brand colours, with logos or numbers where needed. Yes. Birthdays, baby showers, anniversaries, weddings and christenings. Columns start from £100, arches from £275, and a statement installation typically runs from £500 to £1,500 depending on scale. Tell me what you are celebrating and the look you want, and I will suggest what suits the room.
Yes. Brand colours are one of the most common briefs I get, and I can work them in alongside seasonal tones or use them on their own. Send me the colours, or your logo, and I will match them as closely as balloons allow, using high-quality latex.
Yes. LED numbers with an organic garland start from around £300, and I can build letters, numbers and branded elements into larger installations. If you need a logo, tell me early, because it affects design time and materials. I will explain what is realistic before you commit.
No. You hand over the brief and I handle the rest, including access, setting up and clearing away. I am normally ahead of time, and I stay until I am happy with the room. A venue contact on the day is useful, and I will agree who that is beforehand.
Sustainability
Yes. I use natural biodegradable latex, which breaks down like a leaf when it is not released and is properly disposed of. Foil balloons are plastic-coated and do not break down. I take everything away after the event, so nothing is left for the venue to deal with. Never. Released balloons come down somewhere as litter and can harm wildlife. I have turned down large contracts rather than do one, and I would do it again. It is a values decision, and it is not up for negotiation. I am happy to suggest a different way to mark a moment.
I take everything down and take it away. I salvage and reuse thousands of balloons every year, storing them at my Rotherham studio until they are needed again. Anything I cannot reuse goes to a national company that specialises in recycling balloons. Nothing is left for the venue to clear up.
Much of the helium used by responsible balloon professionals is a by-product of MRI machines, which is saved rather than mined fresh. It is a small point, but it matters when you are writing a sustainability line into an event report. I am happy to provide wording for your ESG paperwork. No. Foil balloons are plastic-coated and do not break down, so be wary of any claim that they are eco-friendly. This is why natural latex is my default and I keep foil to a minimum, and why I will tell you honestly about foil before you choose it.
Practicalities
Indoors, away from heat and direct sun, a balloon arch lasts several days to around two weeks. Outdoors, or somewhere hot and bright, expect about a day. Helium designs last one to two days wherever they are. If your event spans several days, tell me and I will design accordingly.
Yes, but rain affects outside work, so the weather forecast matters. Outdoor displays need proper framing and will not last as long as the same piece indoors, and heat and wind shorten their life too. Tell me where it will be and for how long, and I will advise honestly.
Almost certainly. I am based in Rotherham and have travelled across the UK to clients including Amazon and Coca-Cola. I speak to the venue before every event, so we agree access, timings and fixings ahead of the day, and nothing comes as a surprise to you or the venue.

Yes. I do not work for gambling companies, and I do not do balloon releases. Everything else, I am happy to talk about. If you are not sure whether your event fits, just ask me, and I will give you a straight answer without any fuss.
Deposits, cancellations and cover
A £50 deposit secures your date. It is non-refundable. If you book within three weeks of the event, full payment is due at the time of booking. Tell me your date and I will confirm exactly what is due and when.
The £50 deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel within one month of the event date, the whole amount is payable. If you are unsure about your date, speak to me early and I will do what I can to help you plan around it.
Yes. I am a member of both NABAS and the Balloon and Party Industry Alliance (BAPIA), our two professional bodies, which means I am fully qualified and insured. If your venue or organisation needs proof of insurance for its paperwork, ask and I will help.
I am happy to cover the whole of the UK, provided the price is right. Travel outside South Yorkshire adds a delivery charge, so tell me your venue and date and I will give you an honest price for the whole job.
