Why I Was Proud to Be a Sustainability Award Finalist

Being shortlisted as a finalist in the UnLtd Sustainability and Net Zero Award was something I was genuinely proud of, even though I didn’t win. The award went to Moss Valley Fine Meats and it was thoroughly deserved. For me, the recognition mattered because sustainability in my balloon business is not a campaign or a one off initiative. It is how I work every day. To have that approach acknowledged alongside businesses making real environmental change reinforced that small creative and service based businesses also have a meaningful role to play. It confirmed that doing things properly, consistently and responsibly is worth sticking to, even when it is not the easiest or cheapest route.

Earlier this week, Which? published a report highlighting illegal and unsafe balloons being sold on online marketplaces. Many of these products were found to be missing proper safety warnings, incorrectly labelled or not compliant with UK standards.

I use air fill balloons wherever possible.
I travel in an electric vehicle.
